New Year, New Apartment? Living in a small DC apartment can get cluttered at times. I am always taking time to reassess the organization of the apartment and decide how I can make it look more "clean." In the New Year I was determined to finally finish decorating and organizing the apartment. While I still have some work to do, I ordered some of my new pieces off of Wayfair to get started. As you know from my last post, I LOVE Wayfair! I can find affordable pieces that really add to the decor of my home. So I decided to make my TOP 5 Resolutions in Decor and stick to them this year!
Decorate over my bed. Currently the bedroom was lacking in decoration. I decided it was time to make it a more vibrant and exciting place. I ordered floating shelves to hang above the bed and added a pop up color with this piece of art by Norman Wyatt. I added some cute pieces to the shelves and Voila! easy decor. These shelves were SO easy to put up and came with very detailed instructions.
Organize my closet... I have kinda been throwing things in the bottom and up top and not organizing it in a logical way. WHOOPS. The great thing is that Wayfair has easy organization tools to get everything in shape. As well, my make up stash was not organized at all. I found a great piece you can use to get your cosmetics organized.
Kitchen Organization. I had pans and pots in different locations all over the kitchen. This was a necessary re-organization. Now my kitchen is organized by item type, making it much easier to cook.
Add Pops of Color. Like I did in the bedroom with the gold addition through the painting I wanted to added some subtle pops of color throughout the rest of the apartment. A great way to do this is through the area rugs. They are nice and soft with fun hints of colors. As well, adding a statement chair can spice up a room!
Use Baskets. Baskets are a great way to "hide" some of the every day items. They looks nice and are useful at the same time.

Now I can enjoy my bedroom again. I still have work to do in order to get the apartment fresh and clean feeling agin. But I know it will be worth it!
